Rivers Edge Bujinkan Dojo is a separate school and martial art from Southern School of Martial Arts, however classes are held in the same dojo.

We're now recruiting new students for the Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, Ninjutsu class. To enroll please call 919-753-7964

We're affiliated with Shihan Richard Van Donk and the IBDA and a $40.00 per year membership is required to join.


Rivers Edge Bujinkan Dojo was founded in 2003 by Shidoshi-Ho Murdock. Shidoshi-Ho Mark Murdock began training in the Bujinkan in 1996 under Richard Van Donk. Shidoshi-Ho Murdock recieved his Shodan while at the 2000 Tai-Kai in Atlanta, GA. and his latest rank of Yondan in 2006. Shidoshi-Ho Murdock also trained with Shihan Ed Martin and many other Shihan and Shidoshi.

We teach a blend of different aspects of the 9 schools of the Bujinkan, which include basic Kamae, Sanshin No Kata, Kihon Happo (the 8 basic techniques and katas), Nage, various waza's, stealth training, weapons including 6ft, 4ft, 3ft Bo Bokken, Sword, Shuriken, Kusari Fundo, Koketsu Shoge and many more.

We also train outdoors in addition to the dojo. Ninjutsu is a fun and entertaining martial art to train in. We look forward to hearing from.
