SSMA Black Belt Rules

All SSMA black belts will be required to train at least two times a month or more to keep their black belt membership current, after six months of inactivity their black belt membership will expire. Assistant instructor certification will expire after three months of inactivity.

All SSMA black belts will be required to train on a regular basis to keep their black belt membership with the dojo current, after one year of inactivity their black belt affiliation will expire.

SSMA black belts are not permitted to wear their SSMA gi to train outside the dojo unless it is related to training at the dojo. They also must have direct permission from Grandmaster Murdock to do so.

SSMA black belts are not permitted to teach outside the dojo on their own unless they have achieved a 3rd degree black belt and have Grandmaster Murdock's permission to teach, This is also Soke Casarez's rule as well. SSMA black belts are not permitted to share our techniques with other Martial Art schools, doing so may void your black belt and any past relationship to the school. 2nd degree black belts may have special permission to teach on their own or start a training group, if they have moved out of state. This based on their skill level and will be at Grandmaster Murdock's discretion.

Due to the intense nature of the art and the injury potential, SSMA 1st degree black belts are not permitted to teach any Manabi-Masho Ju-Jitsu techniques outside the dojo or start any kind of training group teaching our techniques or any related techniques outside the dojo. This includes one on one teaching.

1st degree black belts are still perfecting their skills and learning control when applying them. 1st degree black belts have not developed the necessary teaching skills at this stage which is really needed to be teaching on their own, at 2nd degree black belt they begin to learn how to teach the art. At 3rd degree black belt, their skills are honed and their teaching skill is generally very good and they can represent and teach the art well.

SSMA, REBD or Grandmaster Murdock is not responsible for any actions, injuries or content taught from any current, past, or non affiliated black belt that is teaching outside of the dojo without Grandmaster Murdock's knowledge or permission. This includes SSMA/Manabi-Masho Ju-Jitsu techniques or any related techniques.

Any criminal offense committed by a SSMA black belt, current or past may result in their black belt rank being pulled from the Manabi-Masho Ju-Jitsu Federation. Any black belt with a pulled rank will no longer be recognized by the Federation as having any rank. All certificates will be nullified.
